Day 3 - Magnificient Rajah Brooke in Kuala Woh Recreational Forest, Tapah

Kuala Woh Recreational Forest was our last shooting spot of the Ipoh trip.  That was my second time seeing the magnificent Rajah Brooke again.

Kuala Woh would normally be full of picnikers and crowds over the weekend,  but luckily we came on a weekday morning and it was not crowded.   This time, a male Courtesan came down to puddle as if to greet us.

After taking some shots of the Courtesan, I hurriedly showed Sifu the same spot where I had seen the congregations of the Rajah Brooke the last time I was there.

Wow!! I was delighted indeed the Rajah Brookes were still there in large numbers.

After spending much time with the Rajah Brookes, we decided to take a walk into the forested area where I did not have the opportunity to do so the last time.

We didnt find many butterflies in there except a mating Malayan Five Ring (Ypthima horsfieldii humei), Malayan Six Ring (Ypthima fasciata torone) but were happy to encounter a rare White Tipped Palmer (Lotongus calathus). There were also some Arhopalas which we could not shoot as they were too skittish.

We went back to the river banks to rest after one round of the forested walk.  As we were resting an unexpected Magpie Crow came perching on the rock.

Just as we wanted to go a second round into the forest, the rain started to pour heavily.  We decided to call it a day and headed back to Ipoh.

It was an awesome day again with the Rajah Brooke and what made it more special this time was to be able to enjoy them with sifu and CJ.

Back in Ipoh, we met up with some Ipoh friends and had chicken rice and taugeh for dinner.
